Limerick – Cembureau Open week

In May 2008 as part of Cembureau’s Plant Open Week Initiative Limerick Works hosted six tours from local schools.  A total of 175 students attended. These included:

• Three sixth class groups from St Nessan’s Primary School, Mungret
• Sixth class from Ballybrown Primary School
• Sixth class from St Paul’s, Dooradoyle
• Transition Year from Hazelwood College

Each group was given a full guided bus tour of the plant from the quarry through to dispatch. After the tour a quiz was given to students to complete back at school or alternatively pupils were asked to draw pictures of their most memorable aspect of the tour. Prizes, in the form of book vouchers were given for the winning drawings.
